Emilian Gatsov (Elbi) will share his experience with randomness through his work in electronic music, sound design, and film scoring. Drawing on techniques and perspectives often borrowed from disciplines outside of music, he will explore why the randomize button can be such a powerful creative tool, why control is not always the answer, and how intuition can help us navigate uncertainty. In an era increasingly shaped by black-box algorithms, this talk invites participants to rethink the role of chance in the creative process and discover new ways of working with the unexpected.
Emilian “Elbi” Gatsov is a Bulgarian composer and sound artist whose work moves fluidly between theatre, film, and contemporary dance.
